The complete website of an outdoor centre in the Outaouais: 33 pages and 5 sections, from the site map to the integrated site. Hiking, mountain biking, kayaking and snowshoeing, 45 minutes from Ottawa.
Context
An outdoor centre that wants its activities booked online. The site had to answer the visitor’s questions in seconds: what to do, when, how to get there, who BORÉAL is, and how to book.
Research and inspiration
A site map of 33 pages in 5 sections and no more than 3 levels. Each section answers a question: Activities (what to do?), Programme (when?), Plan your visit (how to get there?), About (who?), Contact. Book, the client’s goal, leaves the menu and becomes an always-visible button.
Concept
A home page in eight sections, in the order of the visitor’s priorities, drawn at 1440 px and 390 px. On mobile the page reorganises itself: accordion menu, activities carousel, fixed Book bar.
Logo, colours and type
A logo with a pine tree in the A and a palette drawn from the forest: Canvas Tent, Summit Light, Moss Trail, Pine Grove, Sunfire Ember and Sky Chill. Big Shoulders Display for headlines, Public Sans for text, IBM Plex Mono for data.
Final result
The hero designed in Figma, for desktop and phone, then reproduced in code, and the 33 pages of the site map integrated with the help of Claude: all the activities, the trail map, the three-step booking and the calendar. The site can be tested online, on desktop and on phone.
