A card game to get to know each other, one card at a time. Designed for the first days of class, when nobody knows anybody, it replaces stressful introductions with short, light and inclusive questions.
Challenge
Nobody knows anybody, the silence is awkward, and international students lack confidence. How do you break the ice without forcing anyone to speak, with a tool teachers can use all year?
Research and inspiration
Post-its to bring ideas out, the SCAMPER method to transform them, then three empathy maps and a persona: Aanya, 20, an international student from Mumbai, who “just needs a little push to start the conversation”.
Concept
A card format, portable and intuitive, with no phone. Questions sorted into categories, reassuring colours and a simple dynamic: draw a card, answer, laugh.
Final result
A sketch, then a quick prototype made with the help of AI to visualise the box and cards, tested with peers. Their feedback: the game builds confidence, even for someone shy.
